Our Values

Principal's Welcome

Tēnā koutou katoa,

I am honoured to join the Rangeview Intermediate School Whānau as your new Tumuaki (Principal) from Term 3, 2023. My name is Jesmond Filipo, and I am thrilled to be a part of this enthusiastic community.

I am deeply committed to creating an environment where our students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. It is my goal to ensure that Rangeview Intermediate School continues to be a place where children develop a love for learning, while also nurturing their confidence, resilience, and respect for others. Together, we will prepare them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

A “Westie” through and through, this has given me a strong understanding of the aspirations and dreams of our whānau and aiga. I recognise the importance of supporting and empowering our community to achieve success. Outside of education, I have a passion for family, sport, and food. In my free time, you’ll often find me playing sports, eating, or spending time with my whānau.

I am excited to work closely with all of you—our students, teachers, staff, and families — as we embark on this journey together. By building strong relationships, fostering a culture of care and respect, and promoting a love for learning, we will create an inclusive and supportive school environment.

I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and getting to know the Rangeview Intermediate School Whānau. Together, we will continue to build a school community that thrives and celebrates the achievements of every individual.

Nāku noa,

Jesmond Filipo
