Principal's Statement
Rangeview Intermediate is a large school built on the traditional values of courtesy, respect, self-control, integrity, creativity and innovation and a good work ethic. We have a strong reputation for setting and attaining high standards in student achievement and behaviour. My continued vision for this school is for our students to be confident and fully prepared for secondary education. Our students are highly sought after by the secondary schools for their knowledge, positive attitude, study habits, and their self-discipline and perseverance. I want students to have a set of transferable skills that can be readily applied and adapted, to an ever changing world. Students need to understand that new learning is scaffolded upon what they already know. I want our students to be intrinsically motivated, with a sense of ownership of their learning and vested interest in the outcomes. Our academic results have remained extremely high. The school boasts many national champions in many different fields within it student body, including academic, sporting, cultural and the arts. This is not only a credit to a motivated group of students, but also to a team of world class, dedicated teachers and administration and support staff who provide stimulating and challenging programmes. In preparing for the future we do not rest on our laurels and become complacent in what we have already achieved. We are open to providing new and relevant learning opportunities to our students in which they can not only learn, but succeed. D. Latimer Principal
