Leadership
Positions of Head Boy/Girl, Executive Councilors, Class Leadership Team and House Leaders are all chosen during Term 1 of each year. These students are given the opportunity to recognise their leadership ability and are provided with a variety of experiences to develop and enhance their own leadership style.
Young Leaders Day
On Thursday 6 May 134 excited students headed to the Logan Campbell Centre in Greenlane for the annual Young Leaders Day. There were about 3000 students from all over Auckland who attended the day. Everyone was there to listen to people who were able to inspire us to be better leaders. Charlie and Whitney were the MC’s for the day and they interacted and played games with the audience. They even had some of our students dancing up on stage! Lil Saints also treated us to an amazing dance performance.
Nick Tuitasi (Motivational speaker) taught us “Guard your thoughts because your thoughts will turn into words. Guard your words because your words will turn into actions. Guard your actions because your actions will turn into habits. Guard your habits because your habits will turn into character. Guard your character because your character will determine your destiny”.
Pippa Wetzell (TVNZ Breakfast Presenter) told us that there is more than one opinion, so don’t think you’re wrong.
Rob Harley (TV Documentary Maker) spoke about if something happens in the past, you have a choice to make it affect your future or find a way to get around it.
Dayna Vawdrey & Matt Gibb (Studio 2 Presenters) talked to us about never giving up and that nothing in life is easy, so always try your best.
Glen Osbourne (ex All Black) said you can achieve your goals, so always go for it.
This year the Halogen Foundation, who organises these events, celebrated their 10th anniversary. Rangeview, who has been attending these events since they started, and this year sent our biggest group, were thanked and presented with a Canon Inkjet Photo Printer.
It was a great day had by all and I can’t wait to go again next year!
