Maori
All students have the opportunity to learn Te Reo Maori (Maori Language) and Tikanga (Customs) for two terms each year they spend at Rangeview. Classes are 55 minutes in duration. The course includes pronunciation, communication, greetings, communication exercises. Marae protocol, Maori legends, weaving and many other activities are included.
ESOL
To assist our students whose first language is not English, additional assistance is offered for our students. This additional tuition is vital for many of our ESOL students to meet the requirements of secondary schools and their external examinations.
LANGUAGES
Introduced again into our teaching at Rangeview is the teaching of languages. Students are given a taster of four languages, French, German, Spanish and Japanese taught during a term. As culture is an integral part of learning a language, cultural aspects are also discussed and celebrated.
