D.A.R.E Programme

On Wednesday, 10 November, all 440, Year 7 students, travelled on 11 buses to the Trusts Stadium for their DARE WEST FUN DAY.

After spending two hours at the Stadium enthusiastically participating in team building activities the students walked back to school, devoured pizza and hot chips for lunch and enjoyed a disco together in the School’s Jameson Gymnasium. This day was in recognition of their participation in the DARE WEST - Dare to Make a Choice programme. The objective was to recognise the appropriate choices the students have made this year and to encourage them to continue to make those choices in the future.

Constable Rick Cash of the New Zealand Police attended and was involved with the students the whole day, Henderson’s Community Constable Luke Wilson attended most of the day, and several of the other Police Education Officers visited on the day.

Our sincere thanks go to the DARE WEST Committee for fully funding The Fun Day and we also need to recognise sponsorship, through a heavily discounted price on Stadium hire by the Trusts Stadium.
